Postgraduate Training Stillness in Motion

Bhadrena C. Tschumi and Kavi Alessandro Gemin

30 July – 2 August 2020

The three postgraduate seminars present the latest directions in which craniosacral biodynamics is going and elevate your practice to another level. Training passes on new knowledge that sets the course of the field and reveals unexpected interconnections.

The training develops your existing knowledge, brings a new level of perception and builds a new kind of skills. It passes advanced therapeutic tools and teaches new approaches. Three follow-up seminars gradually expand the practitioner’s competences and lead to epiphanies of the essence of the craniosacral work.

Allies with the Tide

level 1

First of three seminars of advanced postgraduate training sleduje tracks footprints of the tide in a living organism. It opens up new opportunities to cooperate with the intent of the tide, enhances the therapist’s ability to surrender to its guidance and by that broadens his possibilities. We will focus on recognizing the forces of the tide in action and how to cooperate with them even in situations where the body has difficulty expressing primary respiration.

The tide guides the biodynamic practitioner through treatment, and the information that the practitioner is able to receive from it has a major impact on the development of the session. The tide becomes a guide of healing and allows the development of a healing plan to the extent that the practitioner is able to perceive and distinguish the manifestations of health. Normally, the practitioner connects to the involuntary rhythm of primary respiration and supports its beneficial organizing cycles.

But what if the primary respiration cycles aren’t present, or cannot manifest? When the system’s vitality is diminished, when it does not have enough potency to express primary respiration in continuous and steady cycles. Traumatic affect, shock, toxicity in the system affect the body’s ability to respond to primary respiration. When the system is unable to express the tide by rhythmic movement, it is essential to develop other tools for cooperation with the Breath of Life. The practitioner can recognize the effect of the potency in the dynamics of the structures and read in the footsteps of the tide and, with their help, reconnect with the forces of health. The morphology and shape of the body reveal traces of the tide that has formed, shaped and developed it, and which constantly regulates its function.

What you learn

Skills – deepening of therapeutic craniosacral competences – specific tools to support and maintain the manifestations of health in the client – becoming acquainted and practicing a specific protocol for the recognition of health forces in traumatized, inert, suppressed systems.

Seminar content – on what are biodynamic principles based – evaluation and interaction with complex situations – access to forces of health and maintaining connections.

Learning objectives – develop the ability to apply and use biodynamic principles during treatments – recognize manifestations of health in tide – orient to natural organizing forces within disordered movement – recognize tide activity in the absence of movement – keep vigilance and serenity in difficult situations – deepen client’s connection with the forces of health – cooperate with the body intelligence of a person

Knowledge of anatomy, embryology, physiology, understanding of biodynamic principles and highly developed perception can be used to recognize tide traces. We will develop and use these skills as part of the healing process (to evaluate). In addition, we explore ways in which we can connect directly with the inherent intelligence of the system, which, as a silent companion, guides us to manifestations of health and their maintaining.

Incarnation of the Human Being

level 2

Second of three seminars of advanced postgraduate training teaches the practical use of embryonic perception during craniosacral treatments. During sessions, we observe the movements and gestures of embryonic development that are responsible for body formation. We are vigilant witnesses, and through our knowledge, observation and listening touch, we support the connection of the client with universal love and with the original matrix.

Biodynamics at the beginning of life is the process of becoming a human being. German anatomist Erich Blechschmidt (1904–1992) explored how natural forces control the metabolic processes of the developing embryo and give rise to the form of the body. These natural forces organize and form. It manifests itself during conception and enters the fluid of the embryo, as an embodied ordering principle.

What Dr. Sutherland called potency is in fact this animating activity of the „Divine Love of Nature“, which warmly supports and fills the developmental gestures of the embryo. Seen this way, the embryo is a loving, living source of health in each of us. It represents a living image of perfect Health.

What you learn

Learning objectives – ability to perceive and recognize the manifestations of embryonic forces in the human system – identify prenatal, embryonic processes during the session and support their development as part of the treatment – perceive, understand and promote body-expressed embryonic gestures as the developmental forces of health – promote ignition processes – work with centerline phenomena – integrate developmental embryonic movements with simultaneous development of human potential – recognize and nourish the internal embryo – developing the skills acquired in the previous seminar.

Seminar content – practical live embryology – embryology in motion and growth gestures – processes of germ layers: ecto, meso, endoderm – contact with the original matrix – connection with the source of life.

The craniosacral practitioner has the privilege of experiencing the „Divine Love of Nature“ directly in the manifestations of her creative powers. It manifests itself in the body like: fluid intelligence, tide movements, cell and tissue permeation, specific developmental growth gestures, vector forces in the body and outside the body.

More than a Body

level 3

Final of three seminars of advanced postgraduate training explores the biodynamic principles at the end of life, where everything gradually goes silent and passes to death. We will discuss how craniosacral biodynamics can benefit individuals and their surroundings in the final stages of life, in terminal disease and during dying.

A biodynamic practitioner seeks health even in moments of pain and suffering. Even when hope gives place to the awareness of the end, in our practice we are invited to maintain a focus on health and inherent intelligence of the body. Biodynamics is based on and cooperates with natural patterns. It supports the harmony of the whole that allows inherent health to control the functions of the body, even if it is at its end.

Can we imagine that one dies as a whole in harmony, peaceful and beautiful, rather than in pieces and suffering? He can realize the state of harmony and full connection with health, even when his body is moving towards death. In such situations, biodynamics really stands out. The practitioner uses his hands to connect with inherent health and restore client’s integrity. When we move to wholeness, we are healed.

What you learn

Seminar content – cultivation of the inner practitioner’s internal state in specific conditions – work with feelings and emotional states that occur – possibilities of being with the dying person – access forces of health in the most difficult circumstances – specific problems related to old age – getting in touch with those who remain – supporting one of the most important transitions – new skills built on the abilities acquired in previous seminars.

Biodynamics is based on the recognition of the forces of life expressed in the material body. Here we are confronted with the impermanence of the body. We encounter the greatest challenges of life, such as degenerative or terminal diseases, senility, old age or the inevitable transition to death. Yet even here one can attain healing. Joining the ever-present health allows us to experience states of calm and vigilance that unite us with divine powers. They recall that every individual is much more than just a body.
